First there was the preemptive strike over the possible release of a sex tape from Danielle Staub's ex. This ex describes some of their sex life:
"Not only does she want to have sex all the time, but she loves the thrill of doing it in public places, where she might get caught," he told Star magazine. "She wanted to make love in restaurant bathrooms basically every time we went out -- she'd get all excited and say, 'The people can hear you doing it outside!"
Well, enjoying sex is not a crime. But defamation is. Danielle Staub, the star of The REAL Housewives of New Jersey is being struck back for defamation and more from Kevin Maher.
**UPDATE: Kevin Maher is clearly a man of his word. He filed a lawsuit against Danielle Staub for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress this week.
Danielle Staub's brief first marriage may not have been a bed of roses, but according to her ex, it certainly wasn't a bed of broken glass, either!
Kevin Maher, who was married to the Real Housewives of New Jersey star for barely a year in the 1980s, tells E! News that Staub has repeatedly slandered him and he is planning to take legal action.
"I am filing a lawsuit against my ex-wife, Danielle Staub, stemming from her allegations that I raped her on a bed of broken glass, inserted my handgun inside her and played Russian Roulette, and last but not least, killing her dog by way of hanging it," Maher states. "She also threatened me on the reunion show that Bravo aired."
On that Real Housewives reunion special (which our guest blogger Bethenny Frankel found totally "boring"), Staub toted along a copy of Cop Without a Badge, an exposé about Maher's life as a police informant that revealed Staub used to go by the name Beverly Ann Merrill, had a history of prostitution and drug use and once faced federal charges in connection with an extortion plot.
But Maher apparently fears that he's the one who came out of all this looking bad.
"It hurt my business and my reputation," Maher says of the comments Staub made about him after becoming a household name during the Jersey girls' premiere season.
He says that, rather than settle, he wants his day in court—or, more pointedly, he wants to watch the 47-year-old mother of two squirm on the witness stand.
A rep for Staub did not immediately return a request for comment.
She and the father of her two daughters, Thomas Staub, divorced in 2007.
Who is telling the truth in these accusations? Or the "most truth" we might ask. It's he said, she said with this Bravolebrity. The one thing that should be pretty solid fact is her rap sheet. The past may shed some light on the future. But even this arrest has been explained away on the reunion shows as being a set-up of some sort.

“The Real Housewives of D.C.,” the most recent addition to Bravo’s hit franchise, is set in the influential metropolitan region of Washington, D.C. See which housewife has the brains to back up her bling...
The Housewives do not recognize Nancy Pelosi's picture, however they do believe she needs Botox treatments as possible.
P.S. If you guessed Jeana Keough would win the most points, you would be correct. (Although Vicki Gunvalson attributes it to Jeana being older than the rest.

According to inside info, the ladies get put through a bit of testing....we'll see how they do tomorrow night...
Richard Chang of the OC Register has revealed 33 new photos from Season 5.
Slideshow - Entertainment - The season 5 cast of "The Real Housewives of Orange County": (Left to right) Lynne Curtin, Alexis Bellino, Vicki Gunvalson, Gretchen
Each of the ladies is interviewed individually, and here's what they have to say.
Tamra Barney: "This season's going to be the biggest. We're just going to blow everybody out of the water."
Gretchen Rossi: "I think what's neat about the show itself is that every season you see each one of us changing and growing in our lives."
Lynne Curtin: "We all have a lot in common with all the viewers out there. We all like to shop. We all like to take care of ourselves. We're just fun, crazy ladies." That's for sure.
Jeana Keough: "This season's been a lot more difficult for me. I've had my own special challenges with not making the same income and having the same expenses."
Alexis: "I'm Alexis Bellino, and I am the new housewife of Orange County, so watch out."
Vicki Gunvalson: "We've grown up on TV. It's really interesting. Donn and I went through some marriage problems last year. You're going to see us in a new phase in our life. And I think that it's going to be a good season. I really do."
Tamra: "You have to tune into season 5 because it's going to be the hottest, hottest housewives show."
Vicki: "Everybody wants to know what the California lifestyle is, 'cause it's going to be really good this year."
OK, here's another tantalizing taste of what's coming up. We'll see clips of Gretchen in a bathing suit. Tamra and her daughter arrive somewhere on a red carpet. Vicki screams as she goes skydiving. Tamra poses for photographs in a bikini. At a party, the Ladera Ranch blonde exclaims, "With my disco stick ready to go!"
The newest housewife, Alexis, says, "I'm so excited to be one of the housewives." We see her exercising. She adds, "Hopefully, make the world a better place." Yeah, right.
Flash over to Jeana meeting with Gretchen. "I put my house up for sale," she says. "I'm asking for $5.5 (million). It's just got to be too much. I don't really think anyone wants to buy in this market." By all accounts, Jeana is expected to depart the cast this season.
Speaking of real estate, we see an agent having a serious meeting with Simon and Tamra Barney. "There are homes selling in this area for below a million," he says.
Tamra: "There's zero equity. I mean, We're so upside down." Tamra to the camera: "To actually sell the house is … (in tears) a little hard."
Here's some good stuff: Gretchen and Tamra are having drinks and a meal.
Gretchen: "You talk (expletive) about me."
Tamra: "I don't talk (expletive)."
Gretchen: "Yes, you do."
Tamra: "I talk the truth."
Gretchen: "I'm telling you right here …"
Tamra: "I'm not an angel, Gretchen."
Gretchen: "I never said I'm an angel."
Tamra: "I don't want to be known as the hooker in Orange County."
Gretchen: "Tamra, shut the (expletive) up."
Tamra rolls her eyes.
